As an American visiting Salisbury with few expectations aside from some pretty famous standing stones, I was dumfounded to stumble across Salisbury Model Centre by accident. A short stumble from the Salisbury train station and a welcome smile. I was in a wonderland of great and small model kits. An emphasis on armor and aviation but with a good assortment of real space subjects. Mini die cast cars, a model train wall, modest sci-fi but solid -- here's the best: many brands of paint, glues, putty (the three types of Milliput!), scratch-building heaven... A little bit of everything and for some, a lot of one thing. A remarkable find for this American. The stores back home are having a hard time. AND! SF3D (for those who know) lives on. Could not resist Machinen Kreuger Whiteknight "Prototype"! Price for such an elaborate kit was reasonable-- I could not do better back home (even factoring in mailing home). I'm sure this is a well-known British treasure but in case you modelers from all over are traveling near Salisbury, it's more than worth the visit.

Great shop, nice range for good prices. Friendly staff. They've got loads of kits and model trains and accessories for those more interested in that type of stuff. Enough scenery and a lot of paints to choose from.
