Having only experienced lunch, I can't speak to the quality of the rooms, but I am absolutely smitten by the visuals of these hotels. The ornamentation of the lounge and dining spaces is stunning. The cuisine was impressive, particularly the taste of the asparagus appetizer. Fantastic service, an appealing variety of wines and a succulent meal formed the components of a delightful midday repast, which was rounded off in the tradition of many, with a leisurely amble through the surrounds of the gardens.

For my birthday, we dined at this restaurant which is situated in a charming hotel. The cuisine was a delight, and the venue was appealing. The downfall, however, was in the severely lackadaisical service. Despite the serving staff's affable disposition, we felt disregarded throughout our stay. Our reservation was delayed by 20 minutes, summoning our server seemed arduous at times, and surprisingly, we were prompted for the cheque even before our entrees were served. I understand Saturdays can be hectic, but when you're paying £110 per person, one would anticipate superior attention from the staff.

I recently visited this restaurant, but I am not inclined to do so again. The ambiance of the place is indeed appealing, yet the cuisine failed to meet my expectations, especially considering the high prices. The staff seemed to lack efficiency and the service was rather inconsistent. I was taken aback to find foreign particles in our wine, which required me to request its removal. Upon its return, the waiter dismissed it as mere wax and suggested it was no cause for concern—an assurance that forced me to ask for a different bottle. As for the food, the 'piggy bites' left much to be desired. The fish fingers, accompanied by ketchup, were noticeably dry, giving the impression they may have spent too much time on a warm plate. The arancini also left us feeling underwhelmed. The portion consisted of only three minuscule balls that were overly dry and certainly not worth their £7 price tag. The major disappointment, however, was the 'pink fir potatoes' which were priced extravagantly at £14 and were nothing more than diced boiled potatoes served with a sauce that barely tasted like tartar. I would strongly advise against visiting.

Our dining experience on Easter Sunday, one of their most packed services with over 200 customers at lunch and nearly the same for dinner, was exceptional thanks to their accommodating and attentive staff. An available wine steward, possibly named Isaac, aided us in selecting a suitable wine. The serving personnel were extremely charming as well. It was our second time dining at Pig and it certainly met our expectations. Much appreciated!

I was overjoyed to receive a certificate to dine at the Pig, a place I visited recently with my future spouse. All I can express is sheer awe. Our time there, from the onset to the conclusion, including our meal, the service, the ambiance and its picturesque position in the New Forest- everything was remarkable. It's tricky to mention every highlight of the meal, but I strongly suggest trying out the black pudding and sharing the crumble. A huge shout-out to the Pig and its staff for the spectacular birthday dinner. We're certainly going to revisit!
