I was genuinely excited to dine here as I had heard numerous praises about this place. Regrettably, my initial experience didn't quite match my anticipation. I was unable to get past the entrance. Being a guest at the nearby hotel, I was recommended to try out the food at the Moldy Fig. Upon entering, the atmosphere was rather desolate, almost leading me to believe the place was shut. Momentarily, I waited for someone to appear. Finally, someone did show up, but they seemed too preoccupied to offer any help and quickly retreated into a back room without acknowledging my presence. Perhaps this was a singular incidence, a victim of unfortunate timing. UPDATE. Thankfully, breakfast was a significant improvement. It featured hot meals served right to the table and a wide variety of other food options. The service was notably impressive. Thus, I feel compelled to revise my ratings in light of this.

The scrumptious cuisine was brimming with taste. Our tardy arrival at the location meant that we basically had the entire eating area to ourselves. The restaurant was imbued with a delightful jazz ambiance that wonderfully complemented our night meal. Our waitress was indeed charming and offered significant assistance. The fishcakes were rich in taste, the beef was prepared to a tee, while the salad was crisp and fresh. Overall, it was a delightful night.

I spent an afternoon at The Moldy Fig, enjoying tea in a refreshingly calm and relaxing environment. The food was wonderfully fresh and delicious, and the prices were truly reasonable. I appreciated the staff's friendly and supportive attitude. A bit of renovation would do wonders though, particularly in the washrooms and some of the interior design could use a revamp. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly endorse this place!

It's unfortunate that on this occasion, the quality of service did not meet the standards set by the food and ambiance in the restaurant, especially considering there were 10 of us. Today, there was a noticeable shortage of employees, which made the service significantly slower or even non-existent at times. We requested tea, and we were handed a teapot of hot water without a tea bag. Upon asking for the tea bag, we received one, but not in the pot as one would expect. This was our initial visit, prompted by the delightful Santa and panto, both of which were enjoyable. Having experienced great service and warm employees at the Concorde Club during previous events added to the comparison.
